Why work with Effingham?

Patients choose Effingham Ambulatory Surgery Center because it is more affordable, convenient, and patient-focused than alternative surgical facilities. Because of our location, our patients can return home quickly to rest while maintaining peace of mind that they are close to our facility for any post-operative concerns. In our small facility, customers receive more attentive care that caters to their unique medical history and current condition. Although our manageable size is beneficial in providing individualized medical care, it doesn’t prevent us from investing in the most modern equipment available.

We have the state-of-the-art equipment and trained medical team that you deserve for your orthopedic surgery.

What do we offer?

We are proud to offer a wide variety of orthopedic procedures that help ensure our patients live more comfortably. Our arthroscopic procedures allow our medical team members to investigate, diagnose, and treat joint injuries. Traditional arthroscopy procedures include knee arthroscopies and shoulder arthroscopies. We have the capability to mitigate many symptoms of damage. Our specialties include surgeries that involve the humerus, biceps, and rotator cuffs. Additionally, we offer bunion and hammertoe correction from our team of podiatrists.

Achilles Tendon Repair

The Achilles tendon is the largest and strongest tendon in the human body and is critical for walking. In an open achilles tendon repair, the surgeon finds the ends of the ruptured tendon and sews them together. Depending on the injury, the procedure involves either one large incision or several small ones. After the surgery, patients are instructed to not put weight on the leg for up to six weeks. Patients may then be given permission to walk with a boot or cast after the non-weight bearing period.

Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Repair Surgery

After knee injuries, doctors recommend this reparative procedure to help restore the knee’s strength and function. Our experienced surgeons will use existing body parts, such as tendons from the patient or a donor, to help replace the injured ligament. Only small incisions are made during this procedure which reduces recovery time. Post surgical care involves wearing a knee brace or splint and walking with the aid of crutches, as well as ice and elevation of the leg.
